Nothing says Spring like the sight of Cherry Blossoms and this little bee knows it. He was making a beeline for the blooms. Maybe he’s hungry after a long cold winter!
Today’s photo is brought to you by the letter “S.” “S” is for Super Dog. Or “S” could be for Super Twinkie. Either way, he’s a hero!
I’m not sure what this monument is erected to outside the stadium where the Tennessee Titans play. I’m pretty sure it is not a monument to football! The sculpture is attached to the old frame of what, I think, was originally part of an old shipyard or shipping dock for commerce traveling on the river. It sits across the Cumberland River from Downtown Nashville.

Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings wrote The Yearling and other books at her home in an orange grove in Cross Creek, Florida. In her book and movie, Cross Creek, she talked about how quickly the undergrowth of the hummock could rise up and overtake the orange groves. This is the hummock behind her home now and it has overtaken the orange grove and reclaimed it. Her home is maintained by the state of Florida as a state park but the swamp hummock owns the grove. So much of the book is alive and well in the carefully maintained home and is a treat to visit. Just don’t step off the grounds into the hummock!
